Are you interested in the role of production manager for the launch of a dynamic new arts organisation in 2012?
The New Zealand Dance Advancement Trust, the charitable trust operating the New Zealand Dance Company, seeks high quality applicants with a minimum of 3 years (or 4 projects) experience for a contract position as New Zealand Dance Company’s 2012 Production Manager – Development Project and Launch Tour.
Your primary role will be to successfully production manage an outstanding development project and public launch season.
You will also contribute to the realisation of key elements of the company’s strategic plan -- particularly to grow the infrastructure and grow the artform of contemporary dance in Aotearoa.
You will report to and work closely with the Executive/Artistic Director, Shona McCullagh and General Manager, Frances Turner and Company Producer, Dolina Wehipeihana to deliver the development project and premiere season of the New Zealand Dance Company in Auckland, subsequent upper North Island Tour and associated events which may include special previews, fundraising, gala and opening night events, and community and education outreach initiatives.
Key roles include:
organisation and implementation of the production design and technical aspects in all venues
production scheduling , liasing with venues and suppliers , and managing technical staff
working closely and positively with the Exec/Artistic Director, Producers, Choreographers and Creative Team.
The Production Manager will also be required to undertake the role of Stage Manager or LX/Sound Operator during performance seasons.
This is an exciting opportunity to help launch a new NZ arts company and you will enjoy our collaborative, energetic and professional environment, but you will need to be an experienced Production Manager with national and international touring experience.
The contract position will include a part-time/casual contract from Nov 2011 - Nov 2012 (pre and post-production period) with a rehearsal/development period Feb 14 - March 25 2012, and a full-time performance and touring period 18 June - 30 July 2012.
