Fleur de Thier is a freelance professional choreographer based in Christchurch. Fleur trained for three full time years at Auckland Performing Arts School (now Unitec). After graduating in 1991 she worked as a dancer in Auckland for two years before returning to Christchurch to establish a career as a choreographer. Fleur has been employed to work for: Daniel Belton – Merchants of Venus Inside Out Theatre – Launch of Water Shed Theatre Brian Carbee – Heaven,Hell and Hamilton Michael Hurst- Greek Trilogy Sean Curham- His first 3 works 1992,93 and 94. In 1998 Fleur established Scrambled Legs Dance Company acknowledged as one of CHCH's leading professional companies. Fleur creates a new work each year on the company and has to date toured two of the seasons nationally. In 2002 Fleur co-founded Jolt Mixed Ability Dance Company, which presents new works annually and has included a tour to Wellington and the Closing Ceremony of the Special Olympics. Fleur is a well known and respected choreographer. She is a co founding member of The Christchurch Choreographers Co-operative and board member of The Dance and Physical Theatre Trust(DAPHT) that oversees the Body Festival. Fleur has regular contracts as both tutor and choreographer for NCEA programmes, Janome Youth Fashion Show, House of Travel and Hagley Dance Company.
Depending on her work committments Fleur is available for contract work.
