Description of Work: Integrated dance. That is, groups and classes that include dancers with and with out physical, sensorial, intellectual and/or psychiatric disabilities. Integrated dance can also include diverse age, size and skill ranges. Basically anyone can dance! Brief Repertorie / CV: Prior to acquiring a disability Jenny's background included chorus line dancing and singing, and acrobatics. Her area of expertise is assisting people with disabilities to adapt movement to achieve quality and efficiency within their own movement boundaries. Jenny is a founding member of FUBAR - an integrated group formed to support a Master's Student Research at the University of Otago. The 2008 Caroline Plummer Fellow, Barbara Snook, had Jenny perform for her Hikoi dance. Jenny has completed the Footnote Choreolab 2010 and was the first dancer with a disability to attend. Earlier this year Jenny performed with the University of Otago Dance Lab's work Cell, which was part of the 2010 Dunedin Fringe Festival. Current Work: Currently part of the University of Otago, Dance Studies, Dance Lab and co-facilitates an integrated Hip Hop class for young people. Future Plans: To work towards developing workshops to increase the skill level of School Teachers and Dance Practitioners in the field of integrated dance. To co-facilitate with other companies and tutors runnng workshops in integrated dance.
